Hi, I'm Nich!

If you run into me out in the world, there's a good chance I'm sitting behind my vintage Smith-Corona typewriter, writing poems for anyone willing to pause for a few minutes. Ironbloom Poetry started from a simple urge to pay attention - to nature, quiet awe, and the things that make us human.

That same heartbeat drives The Ironbloom Dispatch, a monthly snail-mail club bringing hand-forged poetry straight to your mailbox. It's also what fuels my live typewriter sessions and the custom poems I write for life's big milestones.

My work draws inspiration from writers like Mary Oliver, Wendell Berry, and Billy Collins - poets who taught me that ordinary moments are always worth slowing down for. I'm also a photographer and musician, chasing the same details in images and music that I chase in words. At the center of everything is my faith and my family. Being a husband and father shapes almost everything I do.

I'm endlessly fascinated by people and their motivations, using tools like the Enneagram and Working Genius to build real, vulnerable community, the kind that goes way past polite small talk. My tastes are a bit of a mixed bag: I'm just as moved by Impressionism as I am by hardcore music or brutalist architecture, and I'm currently learning the understated joy of sitting still with a good novel.

When the typewriter is packed up, you'll usually find me drinking good coffee at Honey Dirt, browsing the stacks at Whistler's Daughter Books, or gathering around a table with people I love over tacos, pho, or Indian food.
